It is indicated for stage I-IV pressure ulcers, diabetic skin ulcers, venous stasis (insufficiency) ulcers, 1st and 2nd degree burns, post-surgical incisions (dehiscence), cuts and abrasions. What makes it unique?AmeriGel® Gauze Dressing is the only impregnated gauze dressing on the market today with Oakin™. Extracted from nature, Oakin™ provides antimicrobial, antifungal and aggressive autolytic debriding properties. In a MIC test, Oakin™ demonstrated bactericidal activity (in-vitro) against 49 gram + and gram - microbes, including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas, Candida and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Other ingredients include Zinc Acetate, well known for its skin protective properties and Polyethylene Glycol, which helps to maintain a moist wound environment. As a wound filler, AmeriGel® can be utilized to wick or pack wounds, used under compression and changed daily.
